Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 8 - Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MoLVT), on Monday, agreed to launch 3 new offices to facilitate and foster in providing services to Cambodian workers to Thailand.

The three offices are located in Steong Manchey market (2th floor) in Phnom Penh, Battambong Province and Banteay Meanchey Province.

Seng Sakda, Director General of Labor Department of Ministry of Work and Vocational Training said that the purpose of setting up the offices aim to facilitate to the workers who want to compile the legal document to work in Thailand.

It’s estimated that the three offices will be able to issue 3,000 travel passed and working permits per month to workers.

Mao Chandara, Director General of Identification Department of Ministry of Interior, said that this task is significantly solving the elimination of illegal migration, time and money wasted.

In order to get the travel pass and working permits, Cambodian citizens need to conform to a number of legal requirements such as the working contract from Thai Employer through the agency which facilitates them to work there, certificate of birth, and family book.

The representatives of the two ministries called for agencies which nominate, train and send workers to abroad to not charge too much, as the government have seek all solutions to facilitate and tackle the issues for workers.
