MOSCOW, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Russia was currently engaged in negotiations on the delivery of the S-400 air defense missile system with some Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries that are interested in purchasing the systems, local news reported Tuesday.

"Other countries, in particular of the Middle East Asian region and Southeast Asia, have shown interest in purchasing S-400. The talks are being held now," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was quoted by the TASS news agency as saying.

The minister also said Russia was ready to share with its partners the experience of using its equipment.

Russia's recent S-400 missile system purchase agreement was signed with Turkey. Russia will start the delivery of the missile system to Turkey in March 2020.

The S-400 is Russia's most advanced long-range anti-aircraft missile system and can carry three types of missiles capable of destroying targets, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
