(Beijing): Beijing Star AI, one of China's leading artificial intelligence companies, is exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, with plans centred on AI infrastructure, research, digital media, and digital commerce.
The intention was revealed during a discussion between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Zhang Wei, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beijing Star AI Co., Ltd., on Wednesday evening (Jul. 15) in Beijing.
During the meeting, Zhang briefed the prime minister on the company’s business operations, highlighting that Beijing Star AI is a leading technology company specializing in AI-generated video creation and film and television production through Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) technology.
The company has also established the world’s first fully integrated, one-stop AIGC video creation community and developed and launched the world’s first film-grade AI Agent system.
In addition, the CEO also outlined ongoing cooperation with Cambodian partners to explore investments in four key areas: an ASEAN Regional Intelligent Computing Centre, a Film-Grade AI Agent Research and Development Centre, a Cross-border AI Short Drama Distribution Centre, and an ASEAN Digital Commerce Operation Centre.
For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated Beijing Star AI on its achievements and welcomed the company’s interest in exploring AI technology investment opportunities in Cambodia.
The prime minister noted that technology is a key pillar of the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy – Phase I and encouraged the company to continue working with relevant Cambodian ministries, particularly the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, to advance concrete AI investment projects in the kingdom. He also reaffirmed the Royal Government's commitment to developing Cambodia's digital economy.
