(Kandal): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government's commitment to completing Cambodia's nationwide land surveying, registration and land title distribution programme by the end of 2027, while pledging to keep farmers' agricultural land exempt from taxation.

Speaking on Wednesday (Jul. 29) during a land title certificate distribution ceremony in Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province, the prime minister said the programme reflects the government's commitment to securing land ownership, preventing land disputes and providing legal certainty for citizens.

The prime minister acknowledged that the land surveying, registration and title issuance process may face administrative delays or bottlenecks, but urged landowners to remain patient as authorities work to resolve disputes and accelerate the programme.

He said the government's determination is reflected in the progress already achieved. According to the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, 13,956,479 land parcels have been surveyed. The ministry has issued 9,641,857 land titles, or 86 per cent of all land parcels, with 8,765,419 certificates already delivered to landowners.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also reiterated that the nationwide land titling programme remains on track for completion by the end of 2027, in line with the Royal Government's policy under the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

He also dismissed claims that the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict would weaken the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) or end the Hun family's leadership, saying the situation has instead strengthened national unity.

He reaffirmed that the government will continue expanding land ownership rights while maintaining its longstanding policy of not imposing taxes on farmers' agricultural land.
