(Phnom Penh): Cambodia-Thailand trade fell 32.7 per cent to USD 1.6 billion in the first seven months of 2026, down from USD 2.4 billion during the same period last year, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise.

Cambodia’s exports to Thailand totalled more than USD 420 million, down 14 per cent year-on-year, while imports from Thailand fell 37.5 per cent to USD 1.1 billion.

The decline follows border disputes that began in mid-2025 and led to the closure of land crossings. In response, Cambodia banned imports of several Thai products, including fuel, gas, fruits, and vegetables.

Despite the overall slump, trade showed signs of recovery in July. Cambodian exports to Thailand rose 55.2 per cent to over USD 63 million, while imports from Thailand increased 8.5 per cent to USD 180 million.
