(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen called for stronger action against immoral content circulating on social media, urging the Ministry of Women's Affairs to take the lead in addressing serious cases and filing legal complaints where necessary.

Speaking during a meeting with the Cambodian National Council for Women on Friday (Aug. 14), Samdech Techo also urged the courts to take firm action against content creators whose online activities undermine public morality and national dignity.

He noted that major digital platforms, including Facebook and TikTok, as well as AI services, already maintain policies restricting inappropriate content, questioning why Cambodia should not similarly strengthen enforcement to safeguard social values.

Samdech Techo underscored the need for greater accountability in the digital space, saying effective regulatory and legal measures are essential to protecting Cambodia's cultural values, social morality, and national dignity.
