(Phnom Penh): Cambodia ranked No. 1 in Southeast Asia and 17th worldwide as the best country for eco-tourism, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking highlights Cambodia's rich natural resources, including forests, mountains, waterfalls, lakes and rivers, as key assets for attracting domestic and international visitors.

Cambodia topped the regional list ahead of Laos, Thailand and Malaysia, while Seychelles led the global ranking, followed by Slovenia and Croatia.

The strong ranking also underscores Cambodia's potential to expand sustainable tourism while conserving natural resources and supporting local communities.
