(Phnom Penh): The Joint WHC-ICOMOS Advisory Mission report on damage to Cambodia’s Temple of Preah Vihear has been officially published on the UNESCO World Heritage Centre website, according to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.

The report follows a UNESCO-ICOMOS mission conducted from 1-6 March 2026 to assess damage caused by the 2025 armed clashes.

The mission found extensive damage affecting the temple’s integrity, authenticity and Outstanding Universal Value, including destroyed architectural features, decorative elements and inscriptions.

Cambodia identified 142 damaged areas from the July clashes and 420 from the December clashes. The report calls for urgent demining, documentation, structural protection and emergency conservation measures.
