(Sihanoukville): INS Kulish, an Indian Navy Ship, is expected to dock at Ream Naval Base in a few hours, marking the first visit by a ship of the Indian Navy to this Cambodian naval facility.

The anticipated Port Call underscores the growing bilateral maritime partnership between India and Cambodia and reflects shared commitments to professional naval cooperation.

The visit takes place during the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation 2026, a framework launched by leaders on both sides to expand collaboration in maritime security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and the blue economy.

Within this context, the Port Call reinforces India’s commitment to strengthening maritime partnerships with ASEAN nations, including Cambodia.

India and Cambodia have in recent years expanded their defence and maritime engagement, with cooperation spanning joint exercises and training.

The expected visit of INS Kulish to Ream Naval Base builds on this trajectory and demonstrates both nations’ interest in developing a more robust and institutionalised maritime partnership.
