(Phnom Penh): Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sudary sent a congratulatory letter to Sonexay Siphandone following his election as President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Monday (Oct. 5).

In the letter, Samdech Khuon Sudary extended her warmest felicitations and highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between the two neighboring nations.

“Our longstanding relationship as good neighbours, special traditional friends, comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership between our two nations have been built, nurtured and enhanced over the decades based on mutual respect, mutual understanding, mutual trust, and mutual interest. I am confident that these existing ties will continue to deepen in the years ahead for the mutual benefits of our two peoples,” Samdech Khuon Sudary wrote.

The Cambodian National Assembly president also expressed her commitment to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties across regional and international frameworks.

“I look forward to working closely with you and your colleagues to further strengthening our existing parliamentary cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for enduring regional peace, prosperity and building ASEAN-centred regional architecture.”
