(Phnom Penh): The World Bank has projected Cambodia’s economy to grow by 3.5 per cent in 2026 before accelerating to 4.2 per cent in 2027, according to its latest East Asia and Pacific Economic Update.
The report highlighted uneven economic growth across countries and sectors in East Asia and the Pacific, while pointing to the growing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) as a potential driver of future economic opportunities.
Despite ongoing global economic challenges, the World Bank expects the East Asia and Pacific region to expand by 4.5 per cent in 2026, reflecting continued economic resilience.
Meanwhile, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has also revised down its 2026 growth forecast for Cambodia to 3.9 per cent from 4.1 per cent, reflecting a more cautious outlook for the country’s economy.
