Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 30 - General Chea Dara, Deputy Commander in Chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), has allowed 12 foreign military attachés in Cambodia to visit and learn about the security, stability and the general situation in Preah Vihear Province.

The meeting was held complying with the principles of the Ministry of Defense and RCAF on Tuesday morning at Hun Sen VI January Peace Building in Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia.

Those foreign military attachés are from Russia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, the United States, Myanmar and Thailand.

On behalf of Kun Kim, Deputy Commander in Chief of RCAF, General Chea Dara has presented to the visitors the evolution of the situation on July 07, 2008, that the Preah Vihear Temple was listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, under the initiative of Prime Minister Hun Sen in order to preserve the national heritage of an ancient civilization and the world.

Following the International Court of Justice's verdict on November 11, 2013, the security situation of the Preah Vihear temple has been improved. Cambodian army carried out PM Hun Sen’s peaceful stance, in particular the regulations of the Plenary Session of Council of Ministers on 9 January 2015.

The regulations were made to encourage Thai-Cambodian armies to cooperate and resolve peacefully through the content of the meeting on October 3, 2014 between PM Hun Sen and Prime Minister of Thailand Prayuth Chan Ocha on expanding the cooperation along the border between the two countries.

Michael Stelzing, U.S Representative of Foreign Military Attaché Group in Cambodia, appreciates the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia led by PM Hun Sen, for having good cooperation with other countries in the region as well as in the world.

Meanwhile, General Chea Dara added that the task of the Cambodian army is to safeguard territorial integrity, suppress every movement that leads to social insecurity and crackdown any treason acts.
