Phnom Penh (FN), April 26 - Vietnam shared experiences on the hosting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) to Cambodia to ensure the sucess in hosting the forum next year.

The experience sharing made during a meeting between Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen and Tong Thi Phong, member of the Political Bureau and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam at the Peace Palace on Thursday.

According to Eang Sophalleth, personal secretary to Prime Minister, Thong Thi Phong congratulated Cambodia’s economic development, political stability, and diplomacy.

At the same time, she also informed the premier that her visit to Cambodia is to strengthen and expand cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries and to transfer the chairmanship of APPF to Cambodia.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Sen appreciated Vietnam's congratulations for Cambodia’s achievement, saying that these achievements cannot be attained with Vietnam's assistance to Cambodia, in particular the assistance to overthrow the Pol Pot Regime in 1979.

The premier also thanked for her commitment to share experiences for the next year’s APPF and he also requested the Vietnamese and Cambodian Parliamentarians to continue their cooperation.

Vietnamese NA has handed over the Chairmanship of APPF to Cambodia on Wednesday, at Cambodian NA, represented by Heng Samrin, Cambodia’s NA President, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Vietnam’s NA President.
