Phnom Penh (FN), May 14 – Kong Monika, president of “Khmer Will Party”, on Monday evening, expressed hopes that the upcoming elections will run smooth, as many political parties will race in the elections, supported by the international community, including Japan, the donor.

His expression was made at the National Election Committee (NEC) headquarter when he summited his party's list of candidates to the NEC.

Responding to a question of Fresh News reporter at the NEC's headquarter on Rainsy's urge “Not to Vote”, Kong Monika said that Cambodia would not have made any positive changes if she has not been through the election. At the same time, he recommended that Sam Rainsy should develop strategies to compete in a peaceful manner.

"Khmer Will Party" has been officially registered at the Ministry of Interior, according to the Ministry's announcement dated on late Thursday.

The party has successfully collected 4,000 thumbprints and was established to substitute the dissolved opposition party; to follow the people’s will expressed in 2013 and 2017; to restore democracy; and to continue the works from the dissolved opposition party, according to Kong Monika.
