Phnom Penh (FN), May 25 - China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), organized by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, will be held in Nanning city of China from September 12-15, 2018.

Cambodian Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement on Friday that Cambodia will (1) exhibit Khmer products; (2) visit Chinese enterprises, companies and other business and investment forums in China; (3) organize the 3rd Cambodia-China Forum on Trade and Investment on September 13, 2018; and (4) organize Business and Investment Forum, signing memorandum of understanding ceremony, and business meeting in the afternoon of September 13, 2018.

To promote Cambodia's products, the Ministry also invited businessmen and women who wish to attend the 15th China-ASEAN Trade Fair or to find more investment partners to complete their applications and submit to Department of Trade Promotion before August 5, 2018.

The China-ASEAN Expo 2018 is an important forum to promote economic, trade, politics, diplomacy and culture between the two countries, especially developing investment opportunities and business activities as well as building regional and local markets within the framework of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area and Cambodia-China comprehensive cooperation. The forum also promotes regional economic integration.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the China-ASEAN Trade Fair, which Cambodia is an honorable chair.

Last year, Prime Minister Hun Sen attended the CAExpo and this year, he is also scheduled to attend.

Cambodia also hosted 15th ASEAN-China Expo 2018 for three days, from March 30 to April 1, 2018, to be held at the Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Center in Phnom Penh.

Speaking at a press conference on China-ASEAN Expo 2018 in March, Seang Thay, Director General of Trade Promotion General Directorate of Ministry of Commerce, said the expo aims to promote bilateral trade and strengthen commercial ties between Cambodia and China in accordance to the comprehensive development strategy in the field of trade connectivity.

The expo strengthened regional trade cooperation and to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership between ASEAN and China and the China-ASEAN Trade Fair, and especially to mark the 60th Anniversary of China-Cambodia Diplomatic Relations.

440 stalls were exhibited at the 2018 China-ASEAN Expo, of which 54 are standard and 290 are from China's major cities and famous companies, such as China Unicom and Guangdong Nuclear Power.

The exhibition featured a wide range of products and services, including agroindustry, light industry, infrastructure and construction, information technology, tourism, education and human resources, finance and banking, research and development, transport and other related sectors.
