Kandal (FN), May 30 – Addressing to 16,474 workers from 10 factories in Kandal province on Wednesday, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the amendments of the labor law allowed factories to resolve worker’s pension every six months.

The new amendment aims to prevent the issue of employer leaving the factory and not responsible for workers' pension.

He also called on factory owners to follow the law properly in order to sustain their businesses.

In March 2018, the Government of Cambodia has made a pre-requisite of $4.6 million to compensate more than 4,000 workers of bankrupted factories.

Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Ith Sam Heng said that the Ministry of Labor found nine factories that were bankrupted and did not pay the workers, of which four factories already received their funds.
