Singapore (FN), June 5 - Romanian defense minister Ana Birchall requested cooperation with Cambodian Ministry of Defense in the field of information exchange on crimes.

The request was made when she met with Cambodian Minister of National Defense Tea Banh during 17th Asian Security Summit on Saturday in Singapore.

On behalf of the Romanian Government, Ana Birchall stated that Romania intends to strengthen Cambodian-Romanian economic cooperation and relations.

She added that after mid-2019, Romania will become chairman of the Council of Europe, which is a good opportunity for the two countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation and cooperation between the European Community and the Kingdom.

Romania will hold the half-statue of former King Father Norodom Sihanouk in Bucharest, Romania.

Defense minister Tea Banh appreciated Romania for the desire to strengthen cooperation with Cambodia and he also thanked Romania for a statue of the King Father at the Francophonie Square in Bucharest, Romania for his role as the founding father of Francophonie country.

2018 marks the 55th anniversary of Romania-Cambodia diplomatic ties.
