Phnom Penh (FN), May 6 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the benefits that workers enjoy derived from the diligent work of the ruling party, not the dissolved opposition party, addressing to 22,470 workers from eight factories in Kampong Cham Province on Wednesday.

“The opposition used to claim that the increase of workers’ salary is made possible by their demands; now that the opposition dissolved, the salary still increased,” the premier stated.

“It meant the increase of salary from the begining is clearly the Royal Government’s efforts,” the premier added.

Cambodian People’s Party has worked to establish factories and enterprises; build roads, canals, and bridges; increase salary and provide other benefits to workers in time of pregnancy. In contrast, the opposition could not even build a toilet.

According to the premier, very few countries in the world could provide 120% of worker’s salary in the pregnancy period. Most countries could provide only 50%.

The Royal Government pays attention to pregnant women and their nutrition, aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality rate and promoting the health of female workers and government officials.
