Phnom Penh (FN), June 7 - Boungnong Boupha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lao National Institute of Public Health, asked Cambodia to continue to send more students and civil servants to study public health in Laos.

The request was made when Boungnong Boupha paid a courtesy call on Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng on Thursday at the Ministry.

The meeting aimed to promote bilateral cooperation on health sectors between the two countries.

Boungnong Boupha said that so far Laos has welcomed 17 Cambodian students, 40 Vietnamese students, three students from Africa.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, which was organized with the support of the International Development Agency of the French Republic, the Chairman the informed that the institute will select a number of students to continue studies on public health as well as tropical medicine.

Minister said that he will inform Cambodian students and urge them to improve both French and English languages.
