Seoul (FN), June 25 - Approximately 800-1000 Cambodians living in Korea, an equivalent to 1.5% of total Cambodian populations in S. Korea, joined the now-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) on Sunday (GMT+9) led by former vice-president CNRP Mu Sochua to demand the Japanese government not to recognize Cambodian July’s elections and urged the release of former president of CNRP Kem Sokha, according to Long Dimanche, Cambodian ambassador to South Korea.

The ambassador said that most of the Cambodian citizens who live, work, and study in Korea remained calm and focused on their daily chores, ignoring a small group of people who tried to ruin the kingdom’s interest and prestige.

He added that the protesters were filled with incitements, insults, and accusations without proper grounds, aimed at toppling the legitimate government.

“This is an embarrassing defeat of leaders of CNRP in Korea, particularly, Mu Sochua and Nhauy Chamroeun who flew from the US in an attempt to defend traitor Kem Sokha and othe politicians,” said Cambodian analyst "Chao Chak Smuk".
