Cuba (FN), Sep. 25 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced to donate 6,000 tons of rice to Cuban government and people.

The premier met Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez on 24 September 2022 during his official visit to Cuba.

The premier said that the 6,000 tons of rice will leave Cambodia in October 2022 and expect to arrive Cuba in December 2022. Of the 6,000 tons of rice, 3,000 tons are the aids from the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia, and another 3,000 tons are from the private sector.

For his part, the Cuban president expressed his deep gratitude to the Cambodian government, people, and the private sector for the food security assistances.

Both leaders discuss ways to further strengthen bonds of friendly relations between Cambodia and Cuba and expand areas of their cooperation.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of five important documents, including the Programme of Cooperation and Cultural Exchange, MoU on Cooperation between the two Diplomatic Academies, MoU on Cooperation in Sports Development, Cooperation Plan between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and MoU on Health Cooperation.
