Kampot (FN), Dec. 30 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his satisfaction when the General Department of Taxation (GDT) and the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) earned beyond targets in 2022.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking for the reconstruction and upgrading of National Road No. 31 and No. 33, held at Kampot on Friday (Dec 30).

"I am pleased with the reopening of the country and our national income," the premier underscored.

"I would say that this year, both customs and tax earned more than 25 percent of the targets. In 2022, the GDT earned more than USD 3,437 million, equivalent to 121.9 percent of the target. The GDCE earned USD 2,670 million, equivalent to 104 percent of the target. Our fiscal revenue is believed to increase too due to two million tourists that generated USD 60 million through visa fees," the premier continued.
