COLOMBO, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) - The Sri Lankan cabinet endorsed a proposal to create a suitable strategy for the effective economic utilization of state bungalows and presidential residences, the president's media division said on Tuesday.

The proposal was presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the minister of state administration, Provincial Councils, and local government.

Fifty government bungalows located in Colombo and several presidential residences in seven areas, as well as the official residence of the prime minister in Nuwara Eliya, are set to be used in a more economically productive manner, the PMD said.

These properties are not being used to their full potential, and the proposal aims to ensure that these assets are utilized more effectively, according to the PMD.
