Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 14 – Former tycoon Heng Sithy has been apprehended at the Russian border and will be extradited to Cambodia to face legal proceedings.
A senior official from the Cambodian National Police confirmed the arrest to Fresh News on Tuesday night (Jan. 14).
The Cambodian and Russian embassy teams are coordinating efforts to facilitate Heng Sithy’s return to Cambodia.
This development follows a directive from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which recently notified all Cambodian embassies abroad of the revocation of Heng Sithy’s passport. Cambodian authorities, in collaboration with Interpol, had previously issued a Red Notice for his arrest.
