Jakarta, (FN), Feb. 11 – AirAsia Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing affordable regional connectivity and strengthening ASEAN’s aviation sector during a historic meeting between Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-general of ASEAN and AirAsia Cambodia’s CEO Vissoth Nam in Jakarta on 10 February 2025.

The discussions reinforced the crucial role of aviation in driving economic growth, tourism, and regional integration. Both parties expressed their commitment to explore opportunities in facilitating cross-border mobility, support economic growth, and further regional aviation cooperation.

Kao Kim Hourn emphasised ASEAN’s commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity and further develop Open Skies policy, highlighting its role in deepening economic integration and unlocking new opportunities for the aviation and tourism sectors.

“Greater air connectivity is essential for ASEAN’s continued growth, and it is encouraging that AirAsia Cambodia is well-placed to leverage AirAsia Group’s extensive regional network to enhance connectivity to and from The Kingdom,” said Kao Kim Hourn. “Expanding air links between ASEAN countries and beyond will boost economic cooperation, facilitate trade and tourism, and bring our nations even closer together.”
