Manila (FN), Feb. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines, on Tuesday (Feb. 11) in Manila, Republic of the Philippines.

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei briefed the Speaker on the positive outcomes of his bilateral meeting with Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines. He emphasised the commitment to elevating relations and cooperation between the two countries across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, education, tourism, culture, people-to-people exchanges, as well as national defence and security.

Furthermore, the prime minister expressed his gratitude to the Philippine government for its care and support for Cambodian citizens and students residing and studying in the country.

In response, the speaker of the House of Representatives conveyed his satisfaction and deep appreciation for the growing relations and cooperation between Cambodia and the Philippines. He underscored the Philippine National Assembly’s strong support for bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding the eight agreements signed during the official visit.

He also highly commended the strengthening of ties between the legislative bodies of both nations and thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its concern for the Filipino community living and working in Cambodia.

Additionally, Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez expressed his admiration for Cambodia’s rapid development under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei. He further highlighted that Cambodia’s continued progress, guided by a long-term vision, not only benefits its people but also contributes to regional development.

Both sides expressed confidence that the enhancement of parliamentary relations would further invigorate and expand bilateral cooperation, reinforcing the strong bonds between the peoples of Cambodia and the Philippines.
