(Tokyo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Hiroki Kuriyama, President and CEO of NTT Docomo Global Inc. on 28 May 2025 during his official working visit to Tokyo, Japan.
During the meeting, Kuriyama expressed his sincere appreciation to Samdech Thipadei for taking time from his busy schedule to meet with him and his team. He provided an overview of NTT Docomo’s global operations, emphasizing the company’s commitment to investment in the digital and telecommunications sectors.
NTT Docomo Global Inc. is one of Japan’s leading telecommunications providers, offering 4G, 5G, and satellite services. The company is currently engaged in research and development of next-generation 6G technology.
Kuriyama also conveyed the company’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, particularly in the digital sector, with the goal of contributing to the country’s digital and economic development.
For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet warmly welcomed the company’s interest and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s strong commitment to advancing the digital sector. He underlined Cambodia’s focus on expanding service coverage and strengthening digital infrastructure to ensure broader access to digital technologies for all citizens.
The premier further noted that relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions are in the final stages of preparing for the nationwide rollout of 5G technology.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also encouraged NTT Docomo to continue discussions with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to conduct a comprehensive study on the feasibility of investing in Cambodia’s digital sector.
