Phnom Penh (FN), March 14 - Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen urged relevant authorities and institutions to jointly crackdown forestry and fisheries crimes in all aspects, addressing at the annual meeting of Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries on Thursday.
National Commission for the Prevention and Combating of Natural Disasters shall continue to manage natural resources by eliminating exports of all types of timber and wood products to overseas.
The Premier also urged to speed up forest border demarcation and submerged forest, aimed at preventing any violations and called on capacity building programme for fishery community to increase aquaculture and fisheries by 20% per annum.
He stressed on strengthening law enforcement for better conservation of forest of all types, which are the habitats of fish; and urges all relevant parties to jointly strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries and development partners to mobilize financial and technical assistance to modernize Cambodia's agricultural sector.
