Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodia has exported over 173,000 tons of rubber within the first nine months of 2019, generating approximately USD 230 million of revenue, according to the official report of the General Department of Rubber, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries released on Thursday.

From January to September 2019, Cambodia has exported 173,072 tons of rubber, an increase of 23 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

The report added that the average price of rubber is USD 1,335 per ton, a decrease of 2 percent compared to last year.

As the 16th largest natural rubber producers in the world, the government has set a goal to produce 290,000 tons of rubber by 2020 for the exports to China, Vietnam, Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia.
