PHNOM PENH (FN), September 9 – Another 13 illegal Vietnamese immigrants were deported from Cambodia through the international border crossing of Bavet, Svay Rieng province, Maj. Gen. Ouk Hay Seyla, head of investigation of the General Department of Immigration, said today, September, 9, 2016.

The 13 Vietnamese, two of whom were women, have been arrested recently in Siem Reap, Steung treng provinces and in Phnom Penh after they were found entering and working in Cambodia illegally, Gen. Seyla said.

According to Gen. Seyla, a total of 2,784 illegal immigrants of whom 556 were women and 56 different nationalities, have been deported from Cambodia by the Immigration General Department just this year, 2016. For over 3 years since the inception of the General Department of Immigration, a total of 11,069 illegal immigrants, of whom 1,556 were women and 68 nationalities have been deported.
