Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 23 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn thanked the UK Government for continuing to grant GSP to Cambodia and for the assistance given to education, mine clearance and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), according to a press release dated Wednesday.

The appreciation was made during the official visit of UK’s foreign secretary Dominic Raab to Cambodia on 23 June 2021.

The two Ministers agreed on the importance of dialogue on trade related issues. They shared a common desire to further strengthen and expand bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields of mutual benefits, especially economy, trade, education, mine clearance, health, and environment.

In addition, they agreed on the need to advertise business opportunities in Cambodia in order to encourage more UK investors to choose Cambodia as a destination taken into account of Cambodia’s potentials resulting from tax and other incentives, AFTA, RCEP, Cambodia-China FTA, Cambodia-Korea FTA frameworks. In this respect, the two sides would consider establishing a MoU on Trade Facilitation.
