Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 1 – The Royal Government of Cambodia has allocated 2 million Riels (approximately USD 500) to the family of the deceased COVID19 patient and another 1 million Riels (approximately USD 250) to the capital-provincial authorities for burial.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen spoke at the launch of the vaccination campaign for children aged 5, held on Monday at the Peace Palace.

“Currently, thousands of COVID19 patients are being treated, while more than 1,100 is in ICU. I urged all places and hospitals that treat COVID19 patients to try their best to save the lives of the patients,” the premier underlined.

The death rate is the most concern, therefore the premier urged those who have not been vaccinated against COVID19 to get jab.

Meanwhile, the families of those patients who passed away also received various donations.

To date, Cambodia has confirmed 118,613 cases of COVID19 with 114,902 recoveries and 2,794 deaths.
