Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 6 – Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian announced that China decided to assess phytosanitary risk of Cambodia's longan fruit and Pangasius catfish via videoconference, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 11 and other roads in Prey Veng on Monday.

In fact, this risk assessment must be conducted directly at the plantation site and fish farm.

According to Chinese ambassador to Cambodia, Cambodia's longan will be able to export to China in next year's harvest season and the Pangasius in the near future.

According to the General Department of Agriculture, the current area of Pailin longan cultivation is about 8,000 hectares extended across Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Pursat.

Cambodia relies on third countries to export longan to China.
