Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Cambodian economic growth in 2021 is at around 3 percent as the national revenue begins to recover, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh on Wednesday.

"In my opinion, the kingdom’s economic growth in 2021 is around 3%, while we expected only 2 percent growth as stated in the budget law," the premier added.

Before COVID19 outbreak, Cambodia earned approximately USD 500 to 700 million in revenue. In a few months after the outbreak, the revenue dropped to USD 400 million, Samdech continued.

The premier reiterated that tourism services was affected the most, while services as well as industry and agriculture sectors are not severely impacted.

Samdech urged employers to add night shift to factories' working hours to effectively and timely meet the supply.
