Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, head of Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), wished top leaders of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, as well as the government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam a Happy Lunar New Year.

Premier Hun Sen spoke in a telephone conversation with Vietnamese secretary general of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong, according to the CPP’s press release seen by Fresh News on Saturday night.

Cambodian premier expressed his pleasure over the achievements Viet Nam has made in the past year, in particular, the implementation outcomes of the 13th National Party Congress’s resolution, as well as responses to COVID19 pandemic.

“The Vietnamese people will make greater achievements in the fields of defense, nation-building and national reforms under the wise leadership of Nguyen Phu Trong,” Samdech Hun Sen said according to the press release.

Secretary general Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his gratitude to premier Hun Sen for the wishes on the upcoming Lunar New Year and the 92nd Founding Anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. Such pleasure is a testament to neighborliness, traditional friendship and the long-lasting cooperation between the two countries.

Nguyen Phu Trong continued that under Samdech Techo's wise leadership, the CPP will continue to make new and greater contribution to national prosperity and people's happiness of Cambodia, including the ASEAN 2022 chairmanship, the successful organization of the 2022 Commune/Sangkat elections and the upcoming general election in 2023.

The two leaders noted with satisfaction that the two parties and the two countries have further strengthened cooperation in various fields to contribute to maintaining political stability and socio-economic development as well as bringing benefits to the people of both countries.

The two leaders agreed to maintain sustainability and effectively use existing bilateral tie mechanisms, and will continue to work closely to expand and enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
