Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 10 – Cambodia looks forward to the state visit by his majesty the Sultan of Brunei before the upcoming ASEAN Summits and related summits in November 2022.

“As the two countries mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn expressed high appreciation that his majesty the Sultan of Brunei has desire to make a state visit to Cambodia before the upcoming ASEAN Summits and related summits in November,” according to press release seen by Fresh News on Thursday.

Prak Sokhonn accepted with pleasure the invitation extended by Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof to pay an early official visit to Brunei Darussalam at a mutually convenient date and agreed with his counterpart on signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Cambodia and his majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Bilateral Consultations.

“Cambodia looks forward to the state visit by His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei as well as the official visit by Dato Erywan to Cambodia this year. We also discussed the situation in Myanmar in the hope to contribute to the peace-building process in Myanmar and the best interest of all of its people,” Sokhonn wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.
