Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 — Invictus International School welcomed Singapore Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Teo Lay Cheng, accompanied by Ong Wei Jie, Attaché (Administration and Technical) for an official campus visit on 27 May 2022. She is hosted by Koh Thiam Seng, Executive Vice President and Director of Education, Gan Chin Huat, Senior Vice-President and Director of Schools, Charles Tong, Senior Vice-President and Superintendent and Yuen Kah Wai, Vice President and Deputy Principal.
Ambassador Teo spent an hour touring the purpose-designed school, with conducive learning spaces, large areas for physical activities and Cambridge-certified science labs. Classes were in-session as teachers demonstrated the unique pedagogy for mathematics and Singapore Chinese. The Ambassador was also invited to sign on an impressionist art piece of Invictus building to be displayed at the school. In her closing remarks, Ambassador Teo spoke about the importance of mainstreaming investments in education in response to shifting global challenges. She added, “The Singapore brand of education has achieved consistently high international rankings. The Invictus International School is strongly anchored in the Singapore national curriculum and its competitive fee structure gives parents more options to choose from.” As a token of appreciation, Ambassador Teo was gifted a Chinese calligraphy, 刚 强 坚 毅 meaning “Unconquerable”, the school’s motto.
The following day, on 28 May 2022, Invictus organized its inaugural Open House event, well- attended by over 100 people, supported by 8 partner businesses and vendors. Workshop topics included Singapore’s method of Math and Chinese, the mechanics and relevance of IGCSE and International A-Levels and a study abroad presentation. Parents and children participated in an immersive classroom experience for pre-school, primary and secondary levels. Mr Charles Tong, Senior Vice-President and Superintendent said “The school has rich and ready physical resources, a strong Singapore-Cambridge curriculum, as well as a pool of experienced teachers and a team of strong educational leaders for steady growth and development.”
