Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 22 – Back on 07 September 2022, Kun Nhem, delegate minister and director general of the General Department of Custom and Excise of Cambodia, has also met with Huawei Cambodia delegation led by Huawei Cambodia CEO, Sovann Yao, for a fruitful discussion at GDCE office. During the meeting, Huawei and GDCE had in-depth exchanges of views in terms of various trends and hot issues such as pandemic impact to world economy, the geopolitical tension issue, new green energy carbon neutrality, and share the practice of E-Custom of other countries, etc.

During the meeting, Huawei Cambodia CEO Sovann Yao also reported Huawei Group and Huawei Cambodia’s latest progress, which are quite significant even under the severe disadvantageous circumstances. Moreover, Sovann Yao expressed consistent contributions of Huawei to Cambodian Society, which includes various donation activities, network expansion and maintenance, ICT talents cultivation training program, helping SMEs and industries towards digital transformation and Carbon neutrality.

At the same time, Kun Nhem also highly appraised and encouraged Huawei to innovate more digital solutions to lead the digital trend in the future, as well as to contribute to the Royal Cambodian Government’s plans to transform Cambodia into a digital economy for the sustainable growth and development.

Sovann Yao, CEO of Huawei Cambodia, replied “Huawei Cambodia will contribute more to the Cambodia society, in terms of national digital transformation, ICT talents cultivation, bridging the digital devices and bringing the latest ICT technologies and services to Cambodian people.”

Huawei Cambodia Delegation led by Asia Pacific Region CFO, WANG Lichao, has received the “Best Trader” certificate from the General Department of Custom and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE). As one of the leading ICT companies, Huawei has always complied with rule and regulations of all countries it has business at respectively. Huawei Cambodia has been operating for more than 23 years and has earnt various award for being the good compliance company such as “Golden Taxpayer” award which was granted in August 2021. This “Best Trader” certificate also illustrate the compliance operation of Huawei within the Kingdom of Cambodia as well as the good cooperation between GDCE and the company.
