Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 23 – On 21 September 2022, on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York City, USA, Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn had a separate bilateral meeting with the foreign minister of Gambia Mamadou Tangara, and foreign minister of Brazil Carlos Alberto Franco França to exchange views on promoting bilateral relations. During the same day, he also met with Louise Mushikiwabo, secretary general of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

"Prak Sokhonn and Mamadou Tangara agreed to conduct a bilateral consultation, as soon as possible, with a view to encourage trade, investment and cooperation in all feasible areas, including agriculture, between Cambodia and Gambia," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Sep 23).

"Prak Sokhonn congratulated Brazil's recently acquired status of ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner and agreed with Brazilian counterpart that there are many potential areas for ASEAN-Brazil and Cambodia-Brazil cooperation."

"Prak Sokhonn had a cordial exchange of views with Louise Mushikiwabo on further promoting cooperation between Cambodia and the OIF especially in encouraging trade and investment exchanges within OIF region. They agreed that there are many potential areas which OIF members can cooperate for mutual benefits, such as agriculture and renewable energy. Louise Mushikiwabo recalled with great satisfaction her successful visit to Cambodia in March this year."
