Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 11 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen called on the Philippines to import more Cambodian rice and other agricultural products.

The premier spoke during a bilateral meeting with Philippine president Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., on Thursday (Nov 10) at the Peace Palace.

Premier Hun Sen called on the Philippines to import more Cambodian rice and other agricultural products, especially encouraged the Philippines to invest in Cambodia's agriculture, like in rice milling process for exporting to the Philippines to meet the country's demands, according to the outcomes of the meeting seen by Fresh News on Friday (Nov 11).

“Prime minister Hun Sen and president Marcos shared the same aspiration and discussed measures to further broaden the bilateral cooperation, particularly in defense, trade, investment, small and medium enterprises, health services, digitalization, tourism and people-to-people connectivity. To this end, they encouraged relevant ministries/institutions of the two countries to fully and effectively implement the signed documents.”

“The two Leaders noted with pleasure the re-increase of bilateral trade exchange after the pandemic crisis. They also underscored the need to promote public and private partnership and to further bolster the two-way trade and investment,” the outcomes added.
