Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen gave nine key recommendations in order to strengthen the efficiency and accountability of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

The premier spoke during the Ministry of Land Management’s annual meeting, held at the Ministry on Tuesday (Dec. 27).

The nine key recommendations include:

1. Implement the land registration plan to ensure the security of land tenure

2. Encourage the settlement of disputes outside the judicial system at the local level

3. Expand the scope of implementation of the project to build a permanent satellite measuring station for land management and infrastructure development throughout the country

4. Strengthen the implementation of construction laws on construction work and inspection

5. Support affordable housing projects and continue to implement social land concessions to distribute land and houses to poor households

6. Promote conservation in the Angkor Archaeological Park in line with the development in the Run Ta Ek area and the area for relocated residents

7. Solve problems and complete land allocation for the people living surrounding the Tonle Sap Lake by May 2023

8. The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development of Cambodia and the four Provincial Coastal Management and Development Committees must promote the conservation, protection and development of coastal areas

9. Strengthen and improve the provision of all kinds of public services to the people and deal with all requests made by the people.
