Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that no religious activities occur during the war period, speaking at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Christianity in Cambodia, held on Friday morning (Jan 27) in Phnom Penh.

"During the time of war, religion also suffers. Look at what happens at Ukraine. For Cambodia, thanks to peace, we are prospering," the premier underscored.

For the sake of the nation and the people, the Royal Government supports and grants full freedom to all religions in the kingdom.

The premier thanked all Christians for jointly maintaining peace, fighting against COVID19, and participating in the kingdom's development.

Lastly, Samdech called on the Christian leadership, despite their different denominations, to uphold unity both internally and with other religions based on the principle of harmony.
