Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 8 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn was delighted to note the long-standing friendship between Cambodia and France.

The appreciation was made during a courtesy call by Bertrand Lortholary, director for Asia and Oceania of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France, on Monday morning (Feb. 6) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prak Sokhonn is delighted to note the long- standing relations of friendship between Cambodia and France. He highly appreciated the recent Working Visit of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen to Paris on 13 December last year, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Feb. 8).

The foreign minister briefed the Director of the Department on Cambodia's success in chairing ASEAN in 2022 and Cambodia's strenuous efforts to push for the implementation of the five-point unanimous agreement on Myanmar and bring the country back. Get back to normal through conversation, the press release added.

“Mr. Bertrand Lor Tolari praised Cambodia's great achievements in economic and social development since his first visit to Cambodia in 1993, when he was still a student. He also warmly congratulated Cambodia on its chairmanship of ASEAN in 2022, especially in the context of crisis management in the region and around the world, such as in Myanmar, where Cambodia has put in place relentless action. Many aim to implement the five-point unanimous agreement reached by the heads of state / government of ASEAN member states to help resolve tensions throughout the year 2022.”
