Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 11 – President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping expressed confidence in the capability of Hun Manet, candidate of the future premier of the Cambodian People’s Party, in leading a prosperous Cambodia.

Xi spoke during a meeting with Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and his sons, Hun Manet and Hun Many, according to deputy prime minister Sok Chenda Sophea in a press conference on Saturday afternoon on the outcomes of the premier’s official visit to China.

"The president warmly welcomed Hun Manet and said that he is confident that when it comes to a successor, Cambodia would be able to continue the pace of development because he believed in the capability of Hun Manet,” Sophea added.

It should be noted that on 24 December 2021, Hun Manet, the eldest son of Hun Sen and is the Cambodian army commander, was elected as candidate of future Cambodia's prime minister of the Cambodian People’s Party.
