Kampong Thom (FN), Mar. 9 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the Mekong River and Tonle Sap are no longer far apart through thanks to road connection projects between Kratie-Kampong Thom and Kampong Thom-Kampong Chhnang provinces.

The premier spoke at the opening ceremony of the 7th River Festival held on Thursday (Mar. 9) at Stung Sen Park in Kampong Thom Province.

"The Tonle Sap and the Mekong river, which were previously far apart, have become closer through infrastructure connections," the premier underscored.

Samdech continued that the infrastructure construction from Kratie to Kampong Thom has begun in the beginning of 2023, while the infrastructure construction from Kampong Chhnang to Kampong Thom will start in 2024.
