Pursat (FN), Mar. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen criticized some politicians and other individuals who always brought up the matter of human rights and democracy, but overlook the right to life.

The premier spoke during inspection of construction progress of Stung Pursat 1 Hydropower Plant, held on Tuesday morning (Mar 14) in Pursat province.

"Some people like to talk about human rights and democracy, but they seem to overlook the right to life," the premier underlined.

"The Royal Government prioritizes the right to life of the people. After the right to life, we can talk about other rights later. Without the right to life, no need to mention freedom of expression nor other human rights,” the premier added.

Samdech continued that if the right to life is not taken into account, all other rights will be lost, including the right to political activities and the activities of civil society organizations.
