Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the Royal Government has set a two-percent quota of recruiting Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to work in ministries and institutions in accordance with the law on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The premier spoke at the opening ceremony of the 5th Asia-Pacific Community-based Inclusive Development Congress, held on Wednesday (Mar 15) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"After carefully considering the welfare of PWDs, the Royal Government has set a two-percent quota of recruiting the PWDs to work in government ministries and institutions in accordance with the law on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities," the premier underscored.

Samdech also called on private sectors to recruit more PWDs in order to support their family livelihoods as well as participation in socioeconomic development.
