Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen mentioned three main inputs that contributed to hosting the SEA Games such as the legacy of the National Olympic Stadium, the China-aided Morodok Techo National Stadium, and Cambodia’s own resource and efforts.

The premier spoke at a dinner with more than 4,000 Cambodian athletes at Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Center on Monday evening (Apr 3).

"As we organize this SEA Games, we should remember the noble merits of Cambodia's late king father Norodom Sihanouk, who worked hard to build the National Olympic Stadium to host sports events in that era. Although Cambodia had experienced chronic war, the National Olympic Stadium remains in good condition for the next generation to prepare for the 2023 SEA Games," the premier underscored.

"Another point, without China-aided stadium, it would be difficult for us to host the SEA Games," the premier continued.

At the same time, Cambodia has also allocated a national budget to organize this historic event.
