Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen asked for understanding over traffic issue during SEA Games.

The premier spoke at a dinner with more than 4,000 Cambodian athletes at Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Center on Monday evening.

On that occasion, the premier also encouraged the organizer to facilitate the transport of delegates and international guests.

"There will be traffic jams in Phnom Penh, so I would like to ask for the understanding of the people living in the capital as athletes and delegations will travel from one venue to another," the premier underlined.

According to a report of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, there are more than 12,000 athletes from different countries.

Samdech continued, this is a large-scale reception that Cambodia has never had before, so Cambodia must maintain optimal conditions for the travel of both local and foreign athletes.

Samdech continued, Cambodia as the host, must be responsible to ensure the smooth organization of the event and ensure the safety of more than 12,000 players as well as the supporters.
