Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen unveiled that Cambodia's Small and Medium Enterprise Bank, owned by the Royal Government, has offered loans for more than USD 400 million starting from 2020 to September 2022 to assist 3,085 SMEs in the kingdom.

The premier spoke at the solidarity dinner with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) organization, held on Monday (Apr 10) at Koh Pich.

"In 2020, the Royal Government established Cambodia's Small and Medium Enterprise Bank to assist and adopt mechanisms to support the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) during the COVID19 outbreak," the premier underscored.

"Cambodia's Small and Medium Enterprise Bank has been offering loans to SMEs through two major financing projects, namely (1) a direct financing project and (2) a co-financing project. As of September 2022, the bank has offered loans to more than USD 400 million to 3,085 SMEs," the premier continued.
